Peace Building and Conflict Transformation

Pakistan’s social landscape is shaped by a range of tensions, including ethnic, sectarian, political, and resource-based conflicts, that affect communities in different ways across different parts of the country. IDRAC’s training in peace building and conflict transformation is designed to help individuals and organisations understand these dynamics and develop practical skills for working constructively within and across them.

Our programmes cover the basics of conflict analysis, the principles of dialogue and mediation, and approaches to building trust and cooperation in divided or fragile settings. We work with community leaders, local government representatives, civil society organisations, and development practitioners, helping them recognise conflict triggers, manage tensions constructively, and contribute to more peaceful and cohesive communities. We do not approach peace building as a technical formula. We approach it as a human process that requires patience, sensitivity, and genuine engagement with local contexts.
