Women Rights and Child Rights

The rights of women and children are areas where the gap between formal commitments and lived reality remains wide in Pakistan. IDRAC’s training programmes in these areas are designed to help practitioners, communities, and institutions close that gap in practical and meaningful ways.

For women’s rights, our training addresses issues including gender-based discrimination, women’s participation in public and political life, access to education and economic opportunity, and the legal protections available to women under national and international frameworks. For child rights, we work on issues including child protection, access to education, child labour, and the obligations of families, communities, and the state towards children. In both areas, we try to build not just awareness but confidence, helping participants become more effective advocates and practitioners in their own contexts. We also pay particular attention to the intersections between women’s rights and child rights, recognising that the wellbeing of children and the empowerment of women are deeply connected.
